In the next couple of days I will try to diplomatically ask for their response to your question, Suek. It's a very good question indeed. However, it is also a very personal and sensitive question as well.

I couldn't find the area at Sweetness and Light where they were discussing this. Perhaps you could post a more specific link.

Bottom line, though, I don't believe one's donations are going to yield any particular and definitive pattern when it comes to our new "chosen from above" economy. There have already been a number of chosen losers who have publicly stated that they supported Obama and are shocked that he would be manipulating against them. Those would be the Wall Street "losers". I could also add the lawyer representing the non-Tarp secured Chrysler creditors to that list.cdorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13692378691739415168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492310882851199969.post-88390583818829966902009-05-25T11:22:14.020-04:002009-05-25T11:22:14.020-04:00cdor...

It looks like there may be a link between the political party favored by a dealership and the ones that were closed down or not.

Maybe not...but worth asking about. http://www.sweetness-light.com/ has an item about it with links to someone doing some research...sueknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492310882851199969.post-90791373039801830792009-05-24T12:31:48.680-04:002009-05-24T12:31:48.680-04:00After reading Moran's post of which you speak, it ...After reading Moran's post of which you speak, it dawned on me that my cousin owns a local Chrysler dealership. I immediately called him. His grandfather started the business over 50 years ago. It is older and every bit as integral to our community as the "Dodge Dealer" who wrote this letter.

I was devastated when he told me that the exact same thing had happened to him. He too was notified on May 14th that his franchise was being given to the Jeep dealer next door.

All that is happening in our country over a mere 9 months is stunning. My cousin calls it an Oligarchy. I don't know what to call it, but Thugocracy works pretty well for me.

The reality is that these are all independant businesses. They don't cost Chrysler anything. Why not let the free market determine the survivors? With car sales down the tubes, a natural trimming of dealer numbers would occur anyway.

Instead, as is becoming all too normal, we are seeing winners and losers being chosen by the omnipotent "THEY". Some faceless entity from some far off place that nobody can identify and no one has the power to fight.cdorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13692378691739415168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492310882851199969.post-71516459251442850202009-05-23T00:34:25.432-04:002009-05-23T00:34:25.432-04:00Perhaps socialism is not the same thing as gangste...Perhaps socialism is not the same thing as gangsterism, but i can tell you this much, socialism needs gangsterism to survive once the people catch onto it.
