An After Hours Black Break-In

Another story about blacks of note in the news today.

Four black men went into a deserted convenience store after hours. They picked up batteries, sun glasses, etc. and then they . . . . paid for them. Under the impression that the store was open - the store's lights were on and the lock on the front door had malfunctioned - the four men, football players at William Patterson University, tried to find a clerk. Unable to do so, they worked out the costs of their purchases and left the money next to the cash register.

In all fairness to the four men, they not merely acted honestly, but they acted with good character. The test for character is this - how do you act when no one is looking. Well, these men passed a test many others of all colors would fail in today's America. Their parents should indeed be proud of them.

Having spent much of my life in the highly integrated world of the infantry, these were the type of people of all colors whom I lived with and was proud to call my friends and co-workers. In the political arena, as the left tries to paint the right as inveterate racists, and people like me on the right are responding in part by pointing to the failings in civilian black society that the left are ignoring for political reasons, its nice to be reminded that, in the real world, the vast majority of blacks are simply honest Americans who try to do the right thing. The problems of today will be solved, certainly not by Rev. Al or Jessee, but by men like this.

A Note To Ann Althouse - To Fix Black Society, Follow The Example Of Martin Luther King Jr.

What is it with those on the right, that either they argue with no passion or they simply cede ground to the left, as if engaging in the arguments is distasteful? Case in point - James Taranto's article in WSJ stating lukewarm disagreement with Ann Althouse that the right should not be pointing out white on black violence in the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting.

In the Trayvon Martin shooting, the race hustlers of the left saw an opportunity to argue to the black community that white racism was still alive and their greatest enemy. To say that they grossly overreached is an understatement.

There is a backlash now to that from many on the right who see the canard - and indeed, are its targets. And the most obvious response is to point to outrageous acts of black criminality against whites, asking the civil rights community to address it. It is a trap of course, as to address this violence, they would open up the entire can of worms on the ills of black society. Thus it is something both the left and Ms. Althouse would studiously ignore. She labels such acts as "counter Trayvoning." According to her, as quoted in the WSJ:

Conservatives have rested on the principle of colorblindness for a long time, and they've taken abuse for it. Look at how left liberals abuse Chief Justice Roberts for writing, "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race." They consider that kind of talk naive (at best). They push the perceived sophistication of what Justice Blackmun said back in the first affirmative action case: "In order to get beyond racism, we must first take account of race. There is no other way."

Those are the 2 well-defined and socially presentable opinions in this country, and decent, sincere Americans have argued from these positions for decades. Now, we're seeing some conservatives who seem frustrated by this taking account of race that's been done on the left. They seem to think it's a good time to spotlight violence committed by black people. This is not a good idea! It's fine to mourn Shorty, but these candlelight vigils are intended to stir hearts the way hearts were stirred at the Trayvon Martin demonstrations.

. . . To stir hearts counter-Trayvonistically is to nurture feelings that white people are oppressed by black people. This alternative to colorblindness is profoundly stupid. 1. It abandons the easy to express, principled position that many people perceive as the high ground. 2. It steps into the arena of taking account of race, where the left liberals would love to take you on. And 3. It gives air to the white supremacists among us. These people have been outcasts for a long time, but they exist, perhaps not quite yet recognizing what they are.

One, while a color blind society is absolutely what we should all strive for, that will not happen by conservatives ignoring race out of distaste for the argument. Ms. Althouse fully misperceives what is moral in this case. In all cases, facing problems and facing them with honesty defines the moral highground. When the left interprets everything through a racial lens and regularly makes outrageous charges of racism, then following Ms. Althouse's prescription would mean we cede the argument to the left. It is being in a war where only one side is allowed to fight.

Two, her claim that it steps "into the arena of taking account of race, where the left liberals would love to take you," is simply ridiculous. The left wholly ignores problems in the black community because they do not want to have to address them. Indeed, the left attacks any attempt by the right to raise address these problems by anyone on the right as ipso facto racism. The absolute last thing the left wants is an honest conversation "into the arena taking account of race." Indeed, as James Taranto points out in his WSJ article, "counter Trayvoning" has provoked liberals into dismissive responses, and thus might not be such a bad thing.

Lastly, her claim that to raise issues of color would give succor to white supremacists is a non-sequitur. White supremacists are and should always be outcasts. But demanding changes in and for the benefit of the black community in order to finally realize equality is an entirely different animal. At some level, doing so might provide temporary succor to supremacists, but the moral imperative to help black society is far and away more important, and in the end, wholly contradicts the goals of white supremacists. Ms. Althouse's argument seems to be analogous to the argument that children should not be inoculated against disease because some small portion of them will become very sick from the inoculation, irrespective of the fact that many more will be helped.

Indeed, Ms. Althouse's argument is taking a tack precisely opposite that followed by Martin Luther King Jr. His most powerful speech, given those fifty years ago, honestly addressed the problems of race, stated the moral imperative, and shamed white America into agreement that equality should be an overriding goal in America. As he said, blacks had come to Washington to cash the check that said "that all men are created equal." I concur, but we won't get there by following the advice of Ms. Althouse and ignoring race.

America should indeed be a land of colorblind equality where racism should not be tolerated. Fixing the plight of blacks in America today is every bit the moral imperative it was in 1963. There should not be massive, cyclical poverty for over 25% of blacks. Blacks should not have the worst jobless rate in America. Black children should have the same educational opportunities as whites. Black families should not be dysfunctional, with almost 3 out of every 4 children born to single mothers. And crime should not be disproportionately a problem of the black community, with blacks far more likely to commit violent crime, including murder and robbery. This state of black America is obscene in the 21st century. But, but, but . . . those problems are not the work of conservative white racism.

The idealists of the 60′s, JFK, Patrick Moynihan and their ilk, were deeply concerned and doing what they thought best to truly help the black community. Well, they shot their bullets and, while some of what they did helped spectacularly – the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act – other things that they did failed equally spectacularly – welfare and public education.

If the left could find a way out of this that would not result in their own weakening – or even perhaps demise – they would, I am sure, jump on it. Their catch-22 is that such a solution does not exist.

For the far left to truly address the problems plaguing the black community today would mean addressing failures of left wing programs. It would mean taking on the teachers unions (the group that underwrote the MLK 50th anniversary race hustler palooza a few days ago). It would mean taking a stand on traditional morality. The mortal danger to the left in doing so is that it would fracture the blacks as a monolithic voting block. And in an age where only a few percentage points of votes are what separate Republicans from Democrats, that could well be catastrophic for the left. They are quite happy to leave the black community to wallow in horrendous dysfunction so long as they can make money and gain power off their backs.

So the left continues to beat the drum of imaginary racism as the only true ill of black society. At the same time, they studiously ignore all the problems of the black community. The only way to address this issue is to do what Martin Luther King Jr. did. To raise the problems continuously, to do so with utter honesty, and to refuse to be cowed into silence, whether by the left or Ms. Althouse.

Obama's Speech & Links On The Anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" Speech

On Aug. 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave the single most compelling speech in our nation's history on the moral necessity of judging people by the content of their character, not the color of our skin. It change our nation's trajectory.

As we await comments from our Race Hustler In Chief, here are some links relevant to the day.

Here is my take on Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement, something that was once concerned with equality, but now exists because of its value as a political tool for the left - The Civil Rights Movement, The Left & The Legacy of MLK

Perhaps the most thoughtful column of today comes from Dr. Ben Carson, who reflects on MLK and the Civil Rights movement of today in the Washington Times.

James Taranto at the WSJ ponders why the left needs to maintain the canard of rampant white racism in three parts - I, II and III.

Black Professor John McWhorter, who writes for TNR, takes to the WSJ to make the point that fifty years on, white racism is not the overriding issue facing blacks in America today. I agree with his conclusion, though I think that his assessment of the challenges is off.

At Black & Right, Bob Parks ponders the conservative messages of MLK in his famous 1963 speech, concluding with his own "dream" for Americans.

From Bookworm Room, Martin Luther King III Rejects His Father's Legacy & Goes To Washington To Parrot The Race Hustlers and her Thoughts On Race & Racism In America.

Update: You can read President Obama's speech here. As to the speakers in the lead up to Obama, not a single one mentioned the near total breakdown of the black family with nearly three quarters born to single mothers. Not a single one spoke to the problems of serious crime in the black community. Not a single one spoke to the problems of failing schools and the fact that DOJ is now pursuing a law suit in Louisiana to keep black children there in those feeling schools.

If we go down the checklist: Trayvon Martin - check. Stand your ground laws - check. Voter integrity laws - check. White racism today - check. Chris Lane - no. Delbert Benton - no. Fannie Gumbinger - no. Amelia Rudolph - no. Ginger Slepski - no. Indeed, no victim of feral black teen youths were mentioned, even though their acts are symptomatic of the real, true problems facing black society today.

And then there was Obama's speech. He did mention the same of the things above, but surely did not articulate anything resembling a clear message that these are the overriding problems of the black community, that they are not caused by racism, and that blacks need to focus on solving those problems within their community. His central message was that those who disagree with him are racists and what Blacks really need is more socialism, at one point suggesting how evil rich people were for hanging on to their money when it could be used to fund teachers unions crumbling schools.

What I found most sickening about Obama's speech was that he spoke of the economy as if he has had nothing to do with it over the past near 5 years. Obama's economic policies have done more harm to blacks in America in the past five years than the worst racist of whom any can conceive. Obama lambasted crony capitalism, as if it was something that was totally unconnected from this administration. And he spoke about the lack of good job opportunities when it's purely his policies that are turning us into a nation of part time Mc-workers.

99 Years Old Fannie Gumbinger -- Will Obama Mention Her In His Speech On MLK Wednesday?

Fannie Gumbinger was a 99 year old woman living in Poughkeepsie, NY. She had lived through WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. What she couldn't live through was meeting a member of the feral black underclass. She was murdered on Friday by Javon Tyrek Rogers, a 20 year old black who made his living by burglary.

How morally bankrupt must one's culture be in order to allow one to murder a 99 year old woman. The American Thinker has a post on The Faces Of Evil, covering some of the more notable members of the feral black underclass that have committed outrageous acts of violence. The article then concludes:

§ Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

§ The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic.

§ Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.

§ The death toll from murder in Chicago over the last decade exceeds the death toll of our soldiers in Afghanistan since the beginning of that war. [Handgun purchases are not allowed in Chicago.]

§ Nearly 3/4 of black children are born out of wedlock. Generations of children are being raise without fathers.

§ Academic achievement for black students is appallingly low, despite a large amount of money being spent to provide that group with educational opportunities.

Now consider the fact that decent black people are the people who are most harmed by this violent subculture. They are the closest to the problem and suffer the most from it. But we all suffer from this growing cancer and ignoring the problem is simply one way to commit national suicide.

This problem is not about skin color. The real problem is bad values. There is nothing about having melanin in your skin that will protect you from the natural consequences of destructive values. Violent, hostile, uneducated, misogynistic men who do not care for their children will not be successful... anywhere, ever. And no civilization can survive the degradation of its women. Thug culture celebrates the degradation of women.

The many problems facing blacks in America don't spring from even a residue of white racism. MLK Jr.'s speech fifty years ago called on America to act with moral clarity on the issue of race. He was right, and he has largely succeeded. The problems facing blacks in America today are internal. Will anyone in the civil rights movement of today actually start addressing the real problems?

The short answer to that is no. Perhaps the most telling part of the memorial to MLK Jr. held last week, with people like Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Al and MLK III as the key speakers, was that it was largely paid for by teachers unions, the single greatest enemy of blacks today. Unless and until some blacks at the grass roots level figure out that they are being cynically manipulated for money and power, nothing in their world will change. Meanwhile, the Reverends Al and Jessee will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Update: And, on cue, the Reverend Jackson sticks up his head, not to talk about the problems in the black community, nor to talk about Fannie Gumbinger or Chris Lane, but to make the claim that the real thing for blacks to be afraid of is The Tea Party:

Jesse Jackson has no doubt that on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Republican opposition to President Obama’s policies is motivated by racial animus reminiscent of the Civil War-era South. “The tea party is the resurrection of the Confederacy, it’s the Fort Sumter tea party,” Jackson told Politico’s Glenn Thrush.

Fight. Hey, if your black in America, Jesse has your back. And your back will stay planted right where it is so long as you keep buying the poison he is selling you.

Krauthammer & O'Reilly: A Wholly Bankrupt "Civil Rights" Movement (Updated)

I normally don't require validation for my thoughts and beliefs, but when it comes from Charles Krauthammer, it is always welcome. He opines below about Obama's likely topic for the speech Obama will give on the 50 year anniversary of MLK's "I have a dream" speech - racist voting rights laws:

That is the drum I've been beating for years now. Blacks are being used by the left - and that includes their 'civil rights leaders' - in ways that give new meaning to the word "cynical." I credit blacks with the same intellectual capacity as all other beings on this earth. Indeed, many are smarter than I. But those blacks who are actually buying what the far left is selling them - that the biggest problems facing the black community today are "racist" voting rights laws and stand your ground laws - they are dumber than dirt. There just is no other possible conclusion.

For example, see:

Black Civil Rights Leaders No Longer Have A Dream

Chris Lane: A Real "Trayvon" Case, But Where Are The Race Hustlers?

All Of The Stars Align - Time For Republicans To Court The Black Vote

Update: Bill O'Reilly hits the nail on the head:

My hats off to O'Reilly for making the plight of black America his focus and keeping at it for the past few weeks. The straw that broke the camel's back for O'Reilly on this were the race hustlers who went into overdrive in their efforts to lynch George Zimmerman on the alter of racial politics. It was their effort to portray America of today as not more than 1955 Mississippi writ large while wholly ignoring the real issues of black America that finally proved too much for O'Reilly.

Finally, finally, someone with a platform is saying the hard truths and doing so repeatedly. It is my sincerest hope that O'Reilly keeps this up - and that at least some blacks take the message to heart. As I have said over and over again, there is no excuse for black America to be lagging behind in this nation in the 21st century America. The problems in the black community - education, poverty, joblessness, family, crime - that these continue to exist today, are an obscenity.

Black Civil Rights Leaders No Longer "Have A Dream"

On Aug. 23, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr stood on the steps of the Washington Monument and delivered one of the two most notable orations in our nation's history, (the other being The Gettysburg Address). MLK spoke of having "a dream" that one day, all Americans would be judged by "the content of their character, not the color of their skin." It was the perfect speech given at just the right time. It had moral clarity. It was a demand for nothing more or less than that America finally live up to its founding claim, that "all men are created equal."

Now, fifty years later, Democrat Representative John Lewis, a man who was there with MLK on that day, shows what has become of the civil rights movement. He is not a black civil rights leader, fighting to correct the ills of black America. He has become a full member of the far left, a movement that cynically uses blacks, feeding them the purest of canards so that they will remain a solid far left voting block.

The civil rights movement was once a moral imperative - one that has all but completely succeeded in this country. Today, anti-black racism doesn't even register on the scale of what now plagues black America - education, poverty, criminality, family. But the civil rights movement is now reduced to a cesspool in which only race hustlers dwell. And the poster child for that morphing of the movement is John Lewis.

In addressing the crowds at the fifty year celebration of MLK's speech, Lewis did not say word one about the problems facing black America. Instead, he chose to play the race card, claiming that the right of blacks to vote was under attack. What utter hore manure. And what an utter slime ball. If you are black, you ought to be far more outraged than I am.

If Lewis cared about the plight of black America, he would have been beating his chest over something like the recent decision of Obama's Justice Dept. to sue Louisiana in order to stop their school voucher program. That is a voucher program that primarily helps poor black children escape failing public schools. Education really is the "civil rights" issue of our time. But have no doubt, when it comes to a decision of whether to support poor black children or the Teachers Unions, blacks lose every time. It is an obscenity. As is, for that matter, John Lewis fifty years on.

The War On Christianity - New Mexico Edition

From Yahoo News

A New Mexico event photographer's refusal on religious grounds to shoot the commitment ceremony of a same-sex couple amounted to illegal discrimination, the state's highest court ruled on Thursday.

New Mexico, along with 20 other states and the District of Columbia, has a law that explicitly protects individuals from being discriminated against on the basis of their sexual orientation. Another 29 states have no such protection.

In refusing to photograph the ceremony, Elane Photography violated the New Mexico Human Rights Act in the same way that it would have if the company had refused to photograph an inter-racial wedding, the New Mexico Supreme Court said.

"We conclude that a commercial photography business that offers its services to the public, thereby increasing its visibility to potential clients, is subject to the anti-discrimination provisions of the and must serve same-sex couples on the same basis that it serves opposite-sex couples," the court ruled.

Jordan Lorence, a lawyer with the Alliance Defending Freedom who represented Elane Photography, said he is likely to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"We believe that the First Amendment protects the right of people not to communicate messages that they disagree with," he said in a telephone interview.

Joshua Block, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, which represented the couple, said the ruling rejected a "frighteningly far-reaching" argument for allowing private companies to discriminate against gays and lesbians.

"The Constitution guarantees religious freedom in this country, but we are not entitled to use our beliefs as an excuse to discriminate against other people," said Louise Melling, also of the ACLU.

The ruling came as at least two lawsuits by same-sex couples seeking the right to marry are working their way through the New Mexico court system. So far, the New Mexico Supreme Court has declined to rule on whether gay marriage should be allowed in the state, sending the matter to lower courts.

Thirteen U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia, now allow same-sex marriage.

This is nothing more or less than the left using the police powers of the state to attack Christianity and force secular values in the public square at the point of a gun. It is one more domino in the left's war on Christianity. Socialism was given birth in the French Revolution, and it emerged with an overarching goal of driving religion from the public square - a goal that has been at the forefront of the left ever since. As one of the French revolutionaries opined, they should "strangle the last priest with the guts of the last king."

The left have that goal because, in order to remake society, the government must be the only arbiter of morality, the only source of immutable law. Christianity and Judaism, in particular, then, are their implacable enemies.

Feral Black Teens At Work

Here is the report from the MSM in Spokane, Washington:

WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two [_________] teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office says Belton died of blunt facial and head injuries.

Witnesses say Belton was in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the two [_________] male suspects attacked him as he was about to head inside to play pool.

Police responded with K-9s to track the suspects' scent but were not able to locate them.

"It does appear random. He was in the parking lot, it appears he was assaulted in the parking lot and there was no indication that he would have known these people prior to the assault," Spokane Police Major Crimes Detective Lieutenant Mark Griffiths said.

Belton died from his injuries Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

"Shorty," as he was known by his friends at the Eagles Lodge, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII and was shot in the leg during the Battle of Okinawa. He went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum at the company's Trentwood plant for more than 30 years. Belton's wife passed away several years ago.

He loved playing pool, even though he claimed he was no good at it and had been a member of the Eagles Lodge for the last four months. In addition to playing pool he loved working on cars.

Shorty was Ted Denison's best friend of 23 years; the two played pool occasionally and worked on cars daily.

"He was always there for me when I needed him," Denison said. "We'd joke back and forth. We were always having fun, some sort of fun."

He was the kind of nice old man who'd become your friend in minutes. . . .

See if you can fill in the missing word in the above report. After sitting through six months of the race hustlers trying to lynch George Zimmerman on the alter of racial politics, I think its time to demand that they start addressing the real problems of the black community.

And while the MSM is refusing to publish the race of feral black teens, we learn that the black teen who pulled the trigger on Chris Lane hated whites and posted on knocking out five whites to get justice for Trayvon Martin. That from an aussie news outlet; it won't make the MSM over here. Instead, we are being treated to a fictitious take on race and racism in The Butler.

The Obama Economy By The Numbers

From Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse blog, via American Digest:

#1 When Barack Obama entered the White House, 60.6 percent of working age Americans had a job.  Today, only 58.7 percent of working age Americans have a job.
#2 Since Obama has been president, seven out of every eight jobsthat have been "created" in the U.S. economy have been part-time jobs.
#3 The number of full-time workers in the United States is still nearly 6 million below the old record that was set back in 2007.
#4 It is hard to believe, but an astounding 53 percent of all American workers now make less than $30,000 a year.
#5 40 percent of all workers in the United States actually make less than what a full-time minimum wage worker made back in 1968.
#6 When the Obama era began, the average duration of unemployment in this country was 19.8 weeks.  Today, it is 36.6 weeks.
#7 During the first four years of Obama, the number of Americans "not in the labor force" soared by an astounding 8,332,000.  That far exceeds any previous four year total.
#8 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the middle class is taking home a smaller share of the overall income pie than has ever been recorded before.
#9 When Obama was elected, the homeownership rate in the United States was 67.5 percent.  Today, it is 65.0 percent.  That is the lowest that it has been in 18 years.
#10 When Obama entered the White House, the mortgage delinquency rate was 7.85 percent.  Today, it is 9.72 percent.
#11 In 2008, the U.S. trade deficit with China was 268 billion dollars.  Last year, it was 315 billion dollars.
#12 When Obama first became president, 12.5 million Americans had manufacturing jobs.  Today, only 11.9 million Americans have manufacturing jobs.
#13 Median household income in America has fallen for four consecutive years.  Overall, it has declined by over $4000 during that time span.
#14 The poverty rate has shot up to 16.1 percent.  That is actually higher than when the War on Poverty began in 1965.
#15 During Obama's first term, the number of Americans on food stamps increased by an average of about 11,000 per day.
#16 When Barack Obama entered the White House, there were about 32 million Americans on food stamps.  Today, there are more than 47 million Americans on food stamps.
#17 At this point, more than a million public school students in the United States are homeless.  This is the first time that has ever happened in our history.  That number has risen by 57 percent since the 2006-2007 school year.
#18 When Barack Obama took office, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline was $1.85.  Today, it is $3.53.
#19 Electricity bills in the United States have risen faster than the overall rate of inflation for five years in a row.
#20 Health insurance costs have risen by 29 percent since Barack Obama became president, and Obamacare is going to make things far worse.
#21 The United States has fallen in the global economic competitiveness rankings compiled by the World Economic Forum for four years in a row.
#22 According to economist Tim Kane, the following is how the number of startup jobs per 1000 Americans breaks down by presidential administration...
Bush Sr.: 11.3
Clinton: 11.2
Bush Jr.: 10.8
Obama: 7.8
#23 In 2008, that total amount of student loan debt in this country was 440 billion dollars.  At this point, it has shot up to about a trillion dollars.
#24 According to one recent survey, 76 percent of all Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
#25 During Obama's first term, the number of Americans collecting federal disability insurance rose by more than 18 percent.
#26 The total amount of money that the federal government gives directly to the American people has grown by 32 percent since Barack Obama became president.
#27 According to the Survey of Income and Program Participation conducted by the U.S. Census, well over 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government.
#28 As I wrote about the other day, American households are now receiving more money directly from the federal government than they are paying to the government in taxes.
#29 Under Barack Obama, the velocity of money (a very important indicator of economic health) has plunged to a post-World War II low.
#30 At the end of 2008, the Federal Reserve held $475.9 billion worth of U.S. Treasury bonds.  Today, Fed holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds have skyrocketed past the 2 trillion dollar mark.
#31 When Barack Obama was first elected, the U.S. debt to GDP ratio was under 70 percent.  Today, it is up to 101 percent.
#32 During Obama's first term, the federal government accumulated more new debt than it did under the first 42 U.S presidents combined.
#33 When you break it down, the amount of new debt accumulated by the U.S. government during Obama's first term comes to approximately$50,521 for every single household in the United States.  Are you able to pay your share?

When I hear Obama or any on the left talk about championing the "middle class," at this point I become near homicidal.  The low information voters who put this man back into office need to be given a choice - get informed or get sterilized.

Is Charlie Manson The Model For Our MSM?

Bookworm Room has posted on her belief that "Mainstream media is the spiritual descendant of Charlie Manson." It is a very creative and well made argument. Says Book:

Manson had a goal: he envisioned a new world order, with himself and his followers as the leaders. To bring about this new world order, he first had to destroy the existing one. He came up with an idea that he called “Helter-Skelter“: he was going to incite race warfare because he was pretty sure that would bring America down, leaving room for him and his followers to take over. He figured that the best way to start an apocalyptic race war was through violent murder. He wasn’t going to do the murder himself, of course, but he did incite his dumb, sexually-opiated, often drugged followers to commit the deeds on his behalf.

Now, let’s think about the mainstream media. The MSM has a goal: a completely Democrat-dominated political machine, with the MSM and the politicians it’s created in total control. Because this will be a statist new world, the MSM must first destroy completely America’s current, still vaguely capitalist market and individualist ideology. To that end, the media has decided that it will incite race warfare, because it’s pretty sure that race warfare will destroy existing institutions and allow it and its political class to take over. Media members figure that the best way to start this societal breakdown is to sow so much division between blacks and whites in America that the country becomes dysfunctional and, if necessary, bloodied. The media elite are not going to sully their own hands, of course, but they will work hard to incite their followers to commit the deeds on their behalf. (And sadly, to the extent they have followers in black inner cities, these are young people who are minimally educated, inundated with unhealthy sexual messages from movies and rap songs, and too often on drugs. Just think of Trayvon….)

I can’t prove the MSM’s goal, but I can prove its tactics. . . .

Do read her whole post. Her reasoning is solid. I have to take issue on only one point - Charlie Manson was merely a cog in the great socialist wheel. I would name the spiritual progenitors of our MSM as Marx, Lenin and Stalin.

Here are the comments she and I made to her post:

Me:

A fascinating piece, but in the pantheon of mass murders with dreams of grandeur and world change, I think you aim a bit too low. I would have picked Stalin as the MSM’s ideological progenitor. He in fact worked to change an entire country, and indeed, under him, there came to be the division between objective truth and socialist truth. There was control of the media to communicate only approved messages. Etc., etc. And some of the old Soviet movies – particularly the post WWII biopic on Ivan The Terrible – are probably pretty analogous to The Butler in that both teach a version of history not grounded in fact, but rather in message.

On a final note, if you are going to point out things about Oprah, I think that you are missing the most outrageous – her assertion that Trayvon Martin is the “Emmett Till of our time.” Oprah rather surprised me, actually. She built her career by being careful to appear as a normal American rather than an “African American.” She was accepted on those terms. Yet now it turns out that she too is a closet race hustler. May her career be effected accordingly.

Book:

I agree with you about the media’s general leftism, along with its global domination plans. What struck me, though, was how tightly their script regarding racism follows Charles Manson’s plans. It’s as if, when it comes to destroying the U.S. specifically through racial divisions, the media poured over Manson’s evil plans for sowing racial disharmony, and made those plans their own.

Me:

Book, as to racism generally, the only reason blacks weren’t targeted as part of the leftist ideology in Stalin’s Russia was because there were none in that country. But that said, the very foundation of socialism and the left has always been the disparity between the “oppressed and the oppressor.” It is their entire schtick. Blacks were being heavily recruited into the communist party of the USA in the lead up to the 60′s. Even Thomas Sowell was recruited into communism as a young man. The treatment of blacks as a victim class fits hand in glove with the opening lines of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto. Manson’s view of a race war was nothing new. It was in fact Marx’s view of all human history.

While Stalin and Lenin didn’t have blacks, what they had was class warfare. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to Obama and thought that his words could have come from the mouth of Lenin demonizing the Kulaks. Indeed, I looked up some of Lenin’s old speeches old speeches on the Kulaks just to verify my thought – and I was 100% correct. Class war and race war are virtually one in the same – both rely on the oppressed and the oppressor paradigm, both involve demonization of the other, and both are political tools used in precisely the same manner. It is just Marx’s paradigm pointed in two slightly different directions.

I am not saying that your choice of Charlie Manson was in any way wrong. Indeed, I would say that it causes much more of an emotional response to think of it that way then the pedantic argument that I am making. I admit to a bit of shock when I was your post heading in a way that I wouldn’t have been if it referenced Stalin instead of Manson. Thus I will bow to your choice on this one.

Godfather II & Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC): 'Where Is My Bribe?'

This one broken by CNN no less. There really is some common ground between the right and the left - and this is one piece of that common ground:

Think back to the scene from Godfather II where a young Vito Corleone is approached by NYC's then Godfather, Don Fanucci, who asks Vito nicely for "just enough" money to "wet my beak." The only difference between the Don and the Congresswoman is that he asked for his bribe money in Italian. Could this be any more corrupt?

Chris Lane: A Real "Trayvon" Case - But Where Are The Race Hustlers?

(Photo via Crusader Rabbit)

The canard pushed by the left in the Trayvon Martin case is that Zimmerman stalked Trayvon and then, without justification of any kind (they gloss over Trayvon's attack of Zimmerman and the fact that Zimmerman had already called the police), shot Trayvon in cold blood. Some of the most avid race hustling pimps are comparing that shooting to the 1955 murder of Emmett Till, a black teen who was killed after flirting with a white woman in Mississippi.

Well, we have a real life example of the Trayvon story today - and a murder even more senseless than Till's. Three feral black teens in Oklahoma saw a white jogger run by, then for no apparent reason - one claims they were "bored" - got in their car, stalked him and shot him to death.

The white jogger was a 22 year old Aussie in the U.S. on a baseball scholarship. The feral black teens were Chancey Allen Luna, 16, James Francis Edwards Jr., 15, and Michael Dewayne Jones, 17. All are shown on this video (that happens to be an Aussie news site - strangely, I do not know that any MSM site in the US has identified the three feral teens by their race)

So which of those three feral black teens will we hear Obama claim to look just like his would-be son?

Or when will we hear from the race hustling community on this one. Rev. Al? Jesse Jackson? Henry Louis Gates, Jr? Attorney General Eric Holder? Oprah? Hillary Clinton? Anyone? Come on, isn't it long past time to hold a real the conversation on race?

While they are silent, we do have sheer idiocy coming from some on the left. Here is Piers Morgan's tweet on the issue: "When an innocent Australian student is shot dead in Oklahoma for 'fun' - America's gun crisis becomes the world's problem." It just makes my blood boil.

No, Piers, guns are inanimate objects. The only way you get to argue about a "gun crisis" is by skipping over the real issue - a black subculture that is completely dysfunctional. And that is perhaps our most serious national issue.

Do Black's Buy This Crap?

Meant to blog this earlier in the week but have been overcome by work.

If you are black and you believe that the greatest of threats to the black community are "racist" laws to insure the integrity of the ballot box, you are either a person making your living off of the racial grievance industry or an utter fool. If you found yourself nodding when Hillary Clinton tried to play you on Day One of her campaign for the presidency, you are ignorant of most, if not all, the relevant facts.

Ask yourself why Hillary and every politician on the left is trying to make you angry about voting laws. Those are laws that protect the vote of blacks and whites alike. Not a single one of those laws have been shown to have disenfranchised a single black voter. Or ask yourself why these same people are making Stand Your Ground laws such an important issue when such laws had nothing to do with the Trayvon Martin case (and indeed, which laws are invoked most often by black defendants)? Now ask yourself why not a one of these politicians is talking about the black community's problems with unemployment (over 50% for teens), poverty (risen to over 25% for blacks under Obama), education (the "civil rights issue of our time"), crime, or family?

For god's sake, think for yourself.

Is there still some racism against blacks on the fringes of America - I am sure there is. There is no place for it, and when found, it should be punished. But the unvarnished truth is that white racism is no longer any sort of major problem in this country, nor does it play any sort identifiable role in the problems facing the black community. So why then does every left wing politician from Hillary on down want to pretend that it is?

The answer is simple - they need the black vote to stay in power, but you might stop doing that if you start demanding that they actually address the problems besetting blacks today. Addressing those problems would mean two things. One, they would have to admit the problems are not caused by white racism. Two, it would soon become obvious that the left puts blacks far down on the list of interest groups. For instance, teacher's unions are the single most moneyed interest in the left's pantheon, and in any conflict between blacks and the teacher's unions, blacks come out on the short end of the stick. Or for that matter, take the DC City Council that is now driving Walmart out of the city at the behest of unions. With it goes thousands of jobs and the availability of low priced products. Do you really think that decision is being made in the best interest of the black community in DC? If you do, please, do the world a favor, don't reproduce.

For God's sake, wake up! Step off the left's plantation and look around. Hold the people you would elect accountable. The day the left is unable to take your vote for granted is the day the situation of blacks in this country will begin to greatly improve.

On a side note, it is not only blacks who are treated this way by the left - it is virtually their entire staple of low information voters. I blogged years ago about my horror at how MoveOn.org operated - asking people to act on pure emotion with no discussion whatsoever about policies. They tell you what to think and demonize any who do not agree. At Powerline, they make that same observation today. They are still operating on pure demonization and hate.

In the words of Instapundit: "Fuck ‘em. I’ve had it with this crap." Good. Glad to see the anger. We need ton's more of such anger if this "crap" is ever going to be stopped.

Over at RWN, John Hawkins has posted his Eleven Liberal Rules For Racism In America. Many of his points go directly to what I have addressed above:

1) Liberals aren’t held to the same rules as Republicans: When liberals say racist things, it’s just excused out of hand as if it’s no big deal. . . . [This holds not merely for racism, but the most venomous reverse racism as well - Jeremiah Wright being but the small tip of that iceberg.]

2) Minority racism must be ignored: According to Rasmussen polling, “Thirty-seven percent (37%) of American Adults think most black Americans are racist, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. . . . [T]he most grotesque examples of racism from minorities are just shrugged off

. 3) You pay no penalty for falsely accusing people of racism: False accusations of racism can do just as much damage as actual racism. People can be ostracized for it, lose endorsement deals or even lose their jobs over being falsely accused of racism. Yet, the only reason you’ve heard of people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Touré, and Melissa Harris-Perry is because they’re willing to accuse people of being racists on the flimsiest of pretexts. It’s tempting to compare these race-hustling poverty pimps to the KKK, but the more appropriate analogy is the Spanish Inquisition. The attitude is, “So what if we unjustly accuse a lot of people as long as we get a few heretics in the process?”

4) Outrage matters more than facts: It doesn’t matter what Bush actually did in New Orleans or that the local government failed the people of the city; it matters how people FEEL about it. It doesn’t matter that Democrats have run Detroit since 1962; it matters that people FEEL Republicans are responsible. It doesn’t matter that Trayvon Martin wasn’t really a twelve year old kid and that he was slamming George Zimmerman’s head into the pavement; it matters that Zimmerman’s acquittal FEELS symbolic of law-abiding black Americans being profiled because so many other black Americans are criminals. Once an accusation of racism is made, facts are treated as if they’re of secondary importance to FEELINGS.

5) It’s okay to discriminate against white Americans: It’s unbelievable that in 2013, we still have race-based discrimination in America and liberals are perfectly fine with it. . . .

6) It’s always the fifties and sixties: Comparing the United States of 2013, when we have a black President of the United States to a time when black Americans couldn’t drink from the same water fountains as whites is so ridiculous that to do so should practically be considered a sign of mental illness. Yet, it happens all the time . . .

7) Past evidence must be ignored: Ironically, saying you have “black friends” is now considered to be something that a racist would say. That says much more about the sort of witch hunt allegations of racism have become in this country than the people who say it. Judge Charles Pickering put his life on the line to prosecute the Grand Dragon of the KKK in Mississippi in the early sixties; yet liberals falsely branded him a racist to stop his nomination to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. George Zimmerman tutored black children and fought to get justice for a black homeless man beaten by police and even voted for Obama, but he was still falsely portrayed as a racist. This can happen only because determining if someone is a racist has become a political tool that is completely disconnected from whether the person in question actually dislikes people because of the color of their skin.

8) Republicans secretly want to do things Democrats used to do: Conservative, moderate, and liberal Democrats were behind slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, segregation, the Tuskegee Experiment, lynchings and every other racist horror inflicted on black Americans in this country. Republicans stood against the Democrats while they were doing all of those terrible things and while we congratulate them on now agreeing with us that they were wrong, it’s disgusting to try to blame Democrat sins on the Republican Party. . . ..

9) Minorities shouldn’t be held to the same standards as whites: . . . If there is one general characteristic of white liberals, it’s their condescending and demeaning attitude toward blacks.” The soft bigotry of low expectations that liberals bring to the table encourages mediocrity, undercuts excellence and generally helps to hold minorities in America back.

10) When a white non-liberal disagrees with a liberal minority, it’s probably because of racism: Republicans absolutely detested Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton; so what kind of moron would assume that their intense dislike of Barack Obama must be driven by race? Tea Partiers love black conservatives that agree with them, like Herman Cain and Allen West; so could there be a reason that they detest Barack Obama other than race? Do we really need the Scooby Gang to figure out why a group that’s all about small government, low taxes, and cutting spending would dislike a socialist who’s all about big government, higher taxes and increasing spending? . . .

When Cougars Attack

From American Digest:

Says Gerard Vanderluen: Maybe we should just issue new teachers with their own official boy, a box of condoms, and be done with it.

Truth be known, I was the subject of extensive and voracious cougar predation during my four years of undergrad - but it was legal since I had just turned 18 by the time the first attack occurred. Lots of good memories there. At any rate, I recall my father, who was in highschool during WWII, talk to one of his friends about being subject of cougar predation from his 9th grade English teacher who was, evidently, quite a pretty middle aged woman. She just had a taste for boys.

Bottom line, cougar predation has likely been going on for a long, long time. It is just now getting more attention given the greater prevalence of documentary evidence.

Today's Juxtaposition On Islam

Like a broken clock, Richard Dawkins is bound to be right at least twice a day. In this case, he is being taken to task for pointing out that Islam, as a civilization, peaked in the Dark Ages and has contributed nothing to civilization since.

Not quite true. When it comes to murdering innocents, the madmen among them are quite into technological breakthroughs. What apparently is at the heart of all the terror alerts this past week is that they have developed an explosive, undetectable by current means, in which clothes can be soaked, then set off at the proper time when dry.

And they have proven uniquely qualified at keeping down the surplus population:

Mystery Priest? Guardian Angel?

In the news today - a horrendous accident, a failing rescue, a girl nearing death with many internal injuries, the appearance of a mysterious priest who prayed with them, then just as mysteriously disappeared, after which the rescue succeeded. Here is the whole story from the USA Today:

Katie Lentz, a sophomore at Tulane University, was driving from her parents' home in Quincy, Ill., to Jefferson City, Mo., where she has a summer internship and planned to attend church with friends. The Mercedes she was driving collided with another vehicle on a highway near Center, Mo. The accident crushed Lentz's vehicle into a ball of sheet metal that lay on the driver's side, . . .

Reed's team and emergency workers from several other jurisdictions tried for at least 45 minutes to remove the twisted metal from around Lentz. Various pieces of equipment broke and the team was running out of choices. A helicopter waited to carry Lentz to the nearest trauma center. Though Lentz appeared calm, talking about her church and her studies toward a dentistry degree, her vital signs were beginning to fail, Reed said.

"I was pulled off to the side by one of the members of the" helicopter evacuation team, Reed said. "He expressed to me that we were out of time. Her condition looked grim for her coming out of that vehicle alive. She was facing major problems."

At that point, Reed's team agreed to take the life-threatening chance of sitting the vehicle upright so that Lentz could be removed from it. This is dangerous because a sudden change in pressure to the body can be critical, he said.

That's when Lentz asked if someone would pray with her and a voice said, "I will."

The silver-haired priest in his 50s or 60s in black pants, black shirt and black collar with visible white insert stepped forward from nowhere. It struck Reed as odd because the street was blocked off 2 miles from the scene and no one from the nearby communities recognized him.

"We're all local people from four different towns," Reed said. "We've only got one Catholic church out of three towns and it wasn't their priest."

Reed and the other emergency workers were on their knees. The priest of about medium build, maybe 6-feet-tall, stood above them.

"This priest approached Katie and began to pray openly with her," Reed said. "He had a bottle of anointing oil with him and he used that."

Another firefighter who had been watching said it appeared as if the priest also sprinkled Reed and two other emergency workers nearby with oil.

Everything happened quickly after that. Twenty emergency workers pulled together and sat the car upright, Churchill Lentz said. Katie Lentz's vital signs improved and a rescue team from a neighboring community suddenly appeared with fresh equipment and tools. Lentz was removed and rushed to the hospital.

With Lentz gone, the rescue team prepared to clean up, Reed said.

"We all go back to thank this priest and he's gone," he said.

Initially, they assumed he had to get to his home church to lead Sunday services. But then they looked at their photos of the scene.

"I have 69 photographs that were taken from minutes after that accident happened — bystanders, the extrication, our final cleanup — and he's not in them," Reed said. "All we want to do is thank him." . . .

Today's feel good story. As Allahpundit points out at Hot Air, in his Freaky Triple Deaky Miracle Priest Post, there are other reports on what happened, all agreeing that there was a priest, but giving significantly different descriptions of the priest. Reed believes that what he witnesses was a miracle. At Huffpo, they asked Father James Martin, a Jesuit priest and author of My Life with the Saints, for his thoughts:

"Most likely the priest will be identified, and people will be able to thank him," he told The Huffington Post in an emailed message Thursday. "If he's not found, that may mean he wants to remain anonymous. Could it have been an angel? There are similar 'angelic' stories in the lives of the saints, when a figure inexplicably appears and cannot be located afterwards. There are angels, of course, but we tend to ascribe to angels anonymous acts that we find incredibly loving -- when in fact human beings do incredibly loving things in hidden ways every day."

The girl, Katie Lentz, underwent surgery for a broken femur, broken ribs, a lacerated liver, a ruptured spleen and a bruised lung, She is now recovering.
