The Council Has Spoken

The results are in. The winner of this weeks competetion for the Council was Big Lizards for the post "The Courage to Do Nothing". This is an excellent post that looks at several of the recent scientific studies that bring into question the theory of global warming. In second place was Separation of Church and State, Secularist Style by Cheat Seeking Missiles. I voted for this one for first place. It was an exceptionally well written post about an AP history teacher gone wild, using his class as a bully pulpit for anti-Christian, Marxist diatribes rather than any of the academics his students needed to pass the AP History test. As for myself, I went from being a contender to a has-been in one short week. My attempt at a bit of tongue in cheek look at global warming and the Bali conference, A Methane Gas Emission in Church... failed to win, place or show - or for that matter, to show up anywhere on the charts.

In the non-council category, I lost a tie-breaker by the Watcher. This is the second week in a row that I have lost a tie-breaker, though last week's was for the council post. The winning non-council post this week was A Stand-up President by The Ornery American, an interesting take on Bush's foreign policy. My submission was A Muslim American, an interview of Muslim reformist Zhudi Jasser in NRO. I consider Mr. Jasser one of the most important people in America. He is a devout Muslim who has taken a very strong stand against Salafi political Islam and is doing all he can to reform his religion. If you ever get upset and ask the question, "where are the moderate Muslims," just flip to Mr. Jasser's website, AIFD. He is leading the charge. He deserves our support in every way we can provide it.

You can find the entire results at the Watcher of Weasels.
