Watcher's Council Nominations

Each week, the members of the Watcher's Council nominate one of their own posts and a second from outside the Council for consideration by other council members in a contest for best post. The Watcher publishes the results each Friday morning. The Watcher also has a process for anyone who would like to submit one of their posts for consideration as part of the weekly contest. You can find out more about that here. This week's nominations are:

Council Nominations:

Lifting up the knickers of liberal internationalism.

I am reminded of a humorous poster that says something to the effect of "All I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarden." JP gives truth to that expression in his very good post about the very forseeable perils of feeding the Wahhabi mouse, as it were. I concur completely.

A superb post by SD on race and racism in America today.

A superb post from BR, likening Obama to the Wizard of Oz - pay no attention to is personal history behind the curtain.

My take on the current situation in Basra and the general trend lines that I see in Iraq amongst the major players.

The NYT breaks the mold and runs an objective story on a Harvard student promoting virginity and abstinence before marriage.

A student gets suspended for wearing a political adorned t-shirt against the school's dress code, with the predictable law suit following.
