In the face above - a facial reconstruction from bones carbon dated to thirty-five thousand years ago - we can see features of Negroid, Caucasian and Oriental all mixed in one. That is the face of our Adam - or Eve, not quite sure of the sex without all of the skull fragments. This particular skull was found in the Carpathian Mountains and likely represents one of the first homo erectus to venture out of Africa and into Europe.
This follows a fascinating BBC special some years ago using DNA to trace the origins of modern man back to a single tribe in Africa that, even today, bear the same facial characteristics of the person above. It is a fascinating story. You can read the article on the above at the Daily Mail.
