"Hypocrisy, Thy Name Is . . . ."

Guantanamo - the mere name has been known to send shivers up the spine of the NYT editorial board, to send Kossacks into frothing rage (in between games of D&D), and result in long, moralizing soliquies from Democratic politicians as they raced towards the nearest microphone. Indeed, it was to much cheering that Obama, nearly the moment he crossed the threshold of the oval office in January, signed an Executive Order ordering Guantanmo closed in a year. Shortly thereafter, to equal cheers from his left base and Euro-lefties across the pond, he suspended the "kangaroo court" military commissions created by the evil Bushies to try the individuals in Guantamo.

Within the past week, we have been treated to a Friday leaking of Obama's intent to revive the military commissions. And today . . . . well, today we are treated to:

Amid complaints that terror suspects could be brought to the U.S., House Democrats on Monday rebuffed the Obama administration's request for $50 million to relocate prisoners from the detention facility at Guantanamo, Cuba.

Read the whole story. You know, if these people were not actually morally superior to the rest of us, I might start getting a bit cynical.

Someone commented somewhere that something was "a pile of Pelosi"...

Love it!
