I just listened to Sen. Bob Corker, the 1st term Republican from Tennessee, appear on Fox News and say that Republicans had a deal on the financial bail-out with Democrats, that John McCain's presence contributed to the failure of that deal, and that it would be better if John McCain were not present. The deal Bob Corker is saying was all but agreed to on the fiscal crisis would have redirected funds recovered from rehabilitated mortgage backed securities to ACORN and a host of other progressive causes. Bob Corker is the same man who, as part of the gang of ten, would have negotiated away the right of Americans to exploit much of our oil and natural gas reserves.
I voted for this man for the U.S. Senate. That is a mistake I will not repeat. Indeed, I will vote for any Democrat before I vote for Mr. Corker for any elected office again. If there is not a movement in Tennessee to replace Mr. Corker prior to the next election, I think it about time one started.

Seems to me, it was a good thing McCain did show up when he did - maybe people should like at it like that instead.
